How to use simple BOXING EQUIPMENT to make a BOXING TRAINING CENTER

During this COVID-19 season, most of the gyms and workout places remained close for most of the period. So, we (my workout mates) decided to make a workout room in my home. For this, we transformed my basement living room into a Boxing Training Center. In this article, I am going to tell you how I converted my room and how you can make one for yourself with minimum expenses. Moreover, you will get to know the essential Boxing Equipment you need in your boxing training center.

So, why waste time, just hit it right now.

MAKING THE BOXING ENVIRONMENT:

The first thing that makes you motivated in a gym or a boxing training center is the environment of the gym itself means the posters, music, and the people themselves.

1. Walls and Floor:

Firstly, we worked on the floors, why? The reason is during training or warmup you need to move and jump freely without any danger of injuries. In our center we had soft matting on the floor, you can easily purchase one online or in the local shops. The boxing mats are small portions that can be joined easily like a puzzle. Remember, even you have a carpeted room even then put another layer of special boxing carpet in your room. Otherwise, you will put the high risk of a fingers and toe injury.

Talking about the walls, the loud music sound is going to disturb your family or even the neighbors then try to make the room a bit soundproof. We installed foam mats on the walls that can easily be removed. You can buy easily from the near market.

2. Posters:

Then, we pasted big posters of Mike Tyson and the great Muhammad Ali. For prints, you should select the best printers in your market and try to get a poster not a flex, and of high quality. Do not paste too many posters, it will look very odd.

3. Mirrors:

Mirrors are very important, try to install large size mirrors on one complete wall. Fiz them properly using strong nails.

4. Hooks:

You are going to need hooks to hang heavy bags from the ceiling. Otherwise, you can also choose portable boxing bags and we also recommend this kind of bag.

5. Music:

To keep your energy high you should keep a good quality music system with high volume and base. Try to connect it with a Bluetooth system. Moreover, you can install a stopwatch application in it for various time-bound workouts and training sessions.

Some Extra Tips:

In this section we will see some important points you should consider, then we will discuss the boxing equipment and how to choose.

  • If you are trying to start learning boxing, then do practice regularly, for this purpose do fix some specific time. Remember you should practice at least two hours after taking a meal. Also, do practice when you are full of energy or after taking some glucose.
  • Try to choose a room that is used least by the family members and spare it, remove all the unnecessary things from it.
  • Boxing is a game that you should do in a group at least in a couple of formats. Why we insist to be practice in a group is that you are going take motivation from other mates. In case you are alone then try to join some online boxing training classes which will keep you motivated. If you want to go far then you should travel along not alone.
  • One more thing is that you should have enough space so that you can perform your kicks and jumps easily.  

There are some basicBoxing Equipment which you have to buy and some are optional. It depends entirely on you; if you are doing boxing just for the sake of exercise then necessary tools are enough.

Boxing Bags:

There are two types of boxing punching bags, one large and the other small with different purposes. Large bags are also heavy and tough or hard to punch used for punching with gloves while small bags are simple air-filled used for fast and speedy punches.

You can hang the large bag in your room with a strong rope through the rod of the fan. As gyms need no fans so you can remove the fan and attach the hook with this rod. The small air-filled bag is light in weight that you will hang from a wooden frame screwed with a wall.

DIY:

If you want to make one at home then purchase a parachute from the market, get it stitched from a tailor in a cylinder shape and simply fill it with sand.

For a speed bag, simply fill the air in a parachute bag.

Gloves and Gauze:

You will buy a soft Boxing Glove that fits your hands and needs gauze to wrap your wrists. This gauze is going to protect your bones from traumas.

Boxing Ring Shoes:

You can skip boxing ring shoes if you are playing just for exercise but players know the importance of boxing shoes while training. If you do not want to buy a new pair then you can use any lightweight sports flat shoes.

Other BOXING EQUIPMENT:

Your boxing training center will also be a workout place. So you have to keep some basic workout equipment like Custom Boxing Gloves, dumbbells, boxing skipping rope, stretching bands, etc. Moreover, if you have enough space then you can buy some old worn-out heavy tires and these tires are not going to cost you much money.

You can perform hundreds of exercises using stretch bands. You can learn these exercises easily from the internet.       

Summarizing the whole of the blog; find a suitable enough space, put a carpet on the floor, make walls soundproof, decorate with posters and mirrors, and buy the essential equipment. Remember, to gather people around you who always motivate you and work with you regularly; it is better if you have connections with them on a personal level.
