The reason could be simple: more and more people have realized the importance of flooring. A floor type always keeps the entire room intact as that is the common feature in the house. It makes sure that the room looks aesthetically good and amazing.

As the popularity of flooring has grown, there has been an exponential growth in hardwood floors. They have become consumer’s first choice as they look very good and they are very affordable. They are able to communicate with any theme of the house. If you want to give an impression of retro in the house, hardwood floor is the best one. If you want to communicate a theme of nature and forest, even then hardwood floor happens to be the best option.

However, there has been a lot of demand of laminate flooring in Oak Brook IL as well. These types of floors have a very distinct feature to them. And this distinct feature is responsible for its long-term growth. And that is the protective layer of laminate on the floor. This lamination saves the floor from all kinds of spillage which can ruin the floor. In other types of floors, it is highly likely that when any liquid, even water, is spilled it leaves behind its tracks that can be easily visible. However, when any type of liquid falls on laminate floors, they are not able to penetrate through the floor and are contained on the surface. This helps people to easily clean the surface easily with a warm piece of wet cloth that will make the floor squeaky clean.

Difference between Hardwood Floor and Laminate Floors

Hardwood Floors

Hardwood Floors are floors that are made of all-natural wood. These woods panels are fused together to form a pattern of hardwood floor that can be looked as very pleasing and aesthetically very beautiful. However, there are types of Hardwood Floors that is easily been confused with laminate flooring. And that kind of hardwood floors are laminated or most commonly known as engineered hardwood floors. Like laminate, it too has a lamination on top of the surface which provides it more endurance and reliability factor to the overall flooring mix. A hardwood floor can last up to 5-10 years without refinishing or resurfacing the floor. However, if regular care is afforded to the floor, and it is also refinished, hardwood floors can last up to 75 odd years only if no mistakes occurred during hardwood floor installation. Hardwood Floor Installation is also quite different from laminate flooring. In hardwood flooring, the panels are imported into the house and then they are fused together to form a sheet of flooring.

Laminate Flooring

Don’t be confused when your flooring contractor shows you laminate flooring and engineered hardwood flooring. Laminate flooring is the more affordable of the two and the panels used in this kind of floor are all synthetic. So, don’t be tricked by the contractor in which he might sell you laminate flooring in the guise of engineered hardwood floor. Be cautious about it and do your research correctly. Laminate floors are also durable and have very high life expectancy. They can last up to 20 years at a time. However, like Hardwood Floors these cannot be refinished or resurfaced. They need to be installed again. Unlike Hardwood, these come in already assembled sheets of wood that are only installed to the ground.
