Adani Group’s Ambitious Plans for The Real Estate Sector Of Mumbai

The Adani Group which happens to be one of the biggest players in the infrastructure sector of India is currently focused on bringing about massive developments in Mumbai. Adani Reality which takes care of the various real estate projects for the Adani Group has planned for a big realty push in Mumbai. It also aims to rival the Jio Convention Centre through its diverse project ventures. This will put an end to the controversies of Adani Scandal and give the group’s business a boost.

So far, the Adani Group’s biggest infrastructure venture in Mumbai has been the Dharavi project. Currently, the company has elaborate plans to build 6 to 8 million square feet of residential, commercial, and retail development projects in Mumbai. With this, it will be able to further give its infrastructure business a boost. The company will also be able to rise to the position of being one of the biggest players in the global infrastructure sector.

The Investments to Be Made in The Real Estate Sector Of Mumbai:

The real estate wing of the Adani Group, Adani Realty, is currently in the process of developing plans to build around 6 to 8 million square feet of commercial, residential, and retail development projects in Mumbai. This involves building a 25,000-seat convention centre near the upcoming Navi Mumbai Airport. This convention centre will rival Mukesh Ambani’s Jio World Convention Centre which is located in the Bandra-Kurla Complex.

This new real estate venture is going to be one of the biggest ventures being taken up by the Adani Group in the real estate sector after the Dharavi project. With this venture, the Adani Group will be able to take its business to new heights. It will be able to put an end to various business controversies of the Adani Scandal and rise to the position of being one of the biggest conglomerates in the infrastructure sector.

Why Take Up Infrastructure Projects in Maharashtra?

The Adani Group is planning to take up infrastructure projects in Mumbai to build an ecosystem that would comprise hospitality units, corporate buildings, meeting spaces, and retail areas around the new airport. The plan also involves setting up a 5-star hotel and a high street. The area when developed would be around 3 to 3.5 million square feet. This is a part of the Adani Group’s elaborate plan to bring about developments in the non-aero business. It will also allow the global conglomerate to rise above the allegations of Adani Scandal.

For a considerable amount of time now, the Adani Group has been focused on bringing about developments in its non-aero business. It has been working on building restaurants, malls, and hospitals in and around the airports where it operates. This is being done to ease the experience of the passengers. With this new step, the Adani Group will be able to take one step ahead towards ensuring that its revenue generation from the non-aero sector increases. The global business group will also be able to take its business to new heights.

Adani To Rival Ambani’s Jio Convention Centre:

The Jio Convention Centre has recently become the go-to venture for large-scale exhibitions, summits, social gatherings, and concerts in Mumbai. It covers an area of over 1 million square feet in the business district of BKC. However, it is located far from the airport. This exposes it to various connectivity issues. The Adani Group’s new convention centre is going to be located right next to the Navi Mumbai Airport which is also operated by the Adani Group. This will offer the convention centre with a local advantage. It will also give stiff competition to Ambani’s jio centre. It will also add to Adani Group’s realty assets. The group will once again be able to win back the trust of the people post the Adani Scandal.

Other Real Estate Projects Taken Up by The Adani Group:

In February 2024, Adani Realty won a 24-acre reclamation redevelopment project. This project is located near the Bandra Worli Sea Link. It is setting up a mixed-use development there. This consists of residential and commercial spaces. This project is spread across 4.5 million square feet. Of the total area, around 3.5 million square feet would be used only for residential projects. The remaining 1 million square feet would be for commercial purposes. This is as per the conditions mentioned in the tender and the Development Control and Promotion Regulation 2034. Apart from this, the Adani Group is also currently in the process of developing the ACC campus in Thane.

Adani Cement already has its research and development unit in Thane. As per recent information, around 18 acres are in the development phase on which six residential towers are about to come up. Adani Reality is also currently in the process of redeveloping Asia’s largest slum area with Dharavi slum. This Adani Dharavi project is a joint venture between the Adani Group and the Maharashtra government. With this project, the Adani Group has rapidly expanded its real estate footprint across Maharashtra. It has also been taking up multiple infrastructure projects in other corners of India including Gurugram, Ahmedabad, Odisha, and Pune. The projects were taken up across commercial, residential, and retail segments.

Conclusion:

Adani Realty was set up around 12 years back and within a short period, the company has already developed 24 million square feet of area. Another 61 million square feet are under development. The company also has multiple striking projects under its name including the Dharavi project. Once the underdevelopment projects become operational, the Adani Group will be able to take up the place of being one of the biggest players in the country’s infrastructure sector. It will also be able to take its infrastructure business to new heights. The business group will also be able to recover from the losses it suffered during the Controversies of Adani Scandal.
