But how can you monetize YouTube videos sustainably, long-termly, with many possibilities available? It can be done in various ways, including by signing up for the “basic” program that pays out advertising revenue and earning money through live streaming.

Let’s start with Some basics on the fundamentals of YouTube monetization.

Overview of the YouTube Partner Program and Eligibility

With the help of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), creators have more access to YouTube’s tools for monetization and resources and our creator support teams. It also facilitate income sharing from advertisements that are shown alongside your content.

What is required to participate?

  • Obey the monetization guidelines for your YouTube channel. Compliance with them is necessary when you accept a partnership agreement with YouTube. They are a collection of policies and regulations that enable you to monetize on YouTube
  • Reside in a country or region where the YouTube Partner Program is offered.
  • Have no strikes on your youtube channel according to its community guidelines.
  • A check should be made to see if 2-Step Verification is enabled for your Google Account.
  • Be prepared to set up one AdSense account in YouTube Studio if you still need one or to have one active one to link to your channel.

How to meet the requirements

Your channel can be eligible for YPP with either short or long-form videos after you know how to sign up. Click Inform me when I’m eligible in the Earn section of YouTube Studio if you want us to let you know when you’re qualified. You’ll receive an email when you reach one of the eligibility levels listed below. Get 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 legitimate public watch hours over the last 12 months. 10 million genuine public Shorts views in the previous 90 days will get you 1,000 subscribers.

You must know that any public watch hours of Youtube from Shorts views in the Shorts Feed won’t count towards the 4,000 public watch hours requirement.

Additional info on eligibility requirements

Using these thresholds, we can decide more accurately if your channel complies with our policies and standards. Your channel will undergo a standard review procedure once you apply to determine whether it complies with our standards and guidelines. We’ll accept your channel into YPP if it complies with our principles and standards. Remember that we continually review channels in YPP to ensure they adhere to our policies and standards.

How to apply

You can register for YPP using a desktop computer or a mobile device after you have all you need and your channel is qualified to do so:

Computer

  • Log in to YouTube
  • Click your profile image and then YouTube Studio in the top right corner of the screen.
  • Choose Earn from the left menu.
  • Review and accept the Basic terms before clicking Start.
  • A new AdSense account can be created by clicking Start, or an existing one can be linked.

When finished, you’ll notice In Progress on the Get Reviewed stage, indicating your application has been received.

Android

  • Launch the YouTube Studio program.
  • Choose Earn from the bottom menu.
  • After reviewing and accepting the Basic terms, click Start.
  • To create an AdSense account, click Start. You may also link an already-active account.

At the moment, the YouTube Studio app solely offers the application process. We’re shortly working on bringing other functionality, like managing advertisements and other revenue tools. All the capabilities can be accessed by visiting YouTube Studio through a web browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. When finished, you’ll notice In Progress on the Get Reviewed stage, indicating your application has been received.

How does Youtube evaluate your application?

Your channel will instantly be added to a review queue once you agree with the YPP conditions and link an active AdSense account. Human and machine reviewers on Youtube will thoroughly review your channel to ensure it complies with our standards and guidelines. To find out the status of your application, go back at any moment in YouTube Studio’s Earn section. When they have examined your channel, they will respond to you with a decision (typically in about one month). Delays could occur due to higher-than-normal application load, system problems, or resource restrictions. Every YPP application is handled in the order in which we receive it. Sometimes channels need more than one assessment, particularly when there is disagreement over whether the channel is appropriate for YPP the reviewers. It can make it take longer to make a choice.

You could apply again after 30 days if your application is not accepted as long as you continue to upload original content. As their reviewers probably discovered that a substantial section of your channel now violates our policies and guidelines, compare those to your channel’s entire content and make the necessary changes before reapplying.

Decide how you want to work and get paid.

As soon as you’re in YPP, launch YouTube Studio and start using features like Watch Page Advertising, Shorts Feed Ads, Memberships, Supers, and more. You must read and agree to the application module conditions to enable the monetization features. You’ll be able to change your ad preferences, enable monetization for your uploads, and more after deciding how to monetize.

Continue working if you want to earn money.

It is significant to keep a vibrant, healthy ecology of channels as the YouTube Partner Program expands. We reserve the right to disable monetization on channels that have yet to publish a video or make a Community tab post in at least six months to concentrate our support on creators who are active and involved with the community. Keep striving to produce unique material and expand your following if you still need to meet the requirements.
