How to make your home more comfortable for work from home?

work from home

Over the past 1.5 years, working from home has become commonplace for many. There are many advantages to working from home because you can work in your home atmosphere and not spend time in traffic jams every morning. We will tell you how to organise a comfortable mini-office in an apartment and not lose the atmosphere of home comfort.

Choose the right room

First, consider whether you have the ability to set aside a separate room for work. If so, you can organise the space so that it fully meets your needs.

The main advantage of the office is privacy. Any workflow requires a lot of concentration, which is very important if you have children.

The bedroom can be easily converted into a small headquarters for a month or two, or even more. Plus, it’s quieter than the living room.

The main thing is to separate the work area from the rest, for example, curtains or a partition.

The lack of a separate room is not a reason to be upset. This does not mean that working comfort at home is not available to you. The same zoning principles will come to the rescue.

First, decide where it is more convenient for you to work. Many people prefer the living room for this – there is more space. But you can also settle in the kitchen or on the balcony if it is insulated and the space allows it.

Remember the main parameters of the workroom:

-comfortable furniture;

-the ability to separate the space from the total area of the apartment;

-silence;

-personal comfort (for example, a view from windows or a bright room).

Comfortable table and chair

When a child goes to school, the first step is to choose a table and chair to help maintain the student’s posture.

Treat yourself with the same concern. We spend at least 8 hours a day in a seated position, and even more remotely! So make yourself a comfortable place.

How to choose furniture for which your back will thank you?

Start your search from the table.

What do you need for work? Are your laptop and notebook your main tools? Think about models with small countertops.

If you have books, a second monitor, documents, or just a creative mess on your desk, then look at the larger tables. So you will not feel constrained, and there will be a place for everything.

The chair is the second irreplaceable assistant for work.

How to choose the right one:

-Adjust the height and bend your arms: they should be in line with the table-top.

-The shoulders should not be tense.

-After changing the height of the chair, the legs should be flat on the floor and bent at the knees at an angle of 90 degrees. If necessary, place a special stand under your feet.

What other furniture is needed

To create a comfortable business environment at home, you do not need a full set of furniture that you have in your office. But you can take care of the convenience as much as possible.

Footrest

If you raise your work chair high, then the stand will take care of your legs. There are different models: both simple plastic coasters, and with the function of heating and massage.

Think about the lighting

When it comes to lighting, it’s best to stick to the more is the better motto.

Use natural light: position your work area by a window, open curtains and shades. Don’t forget the table lamp too. Use additional lights, such as a chandelier, if necessary. And then your eyes will be grateful to you.

Decoration

Don’t forget to add something personal to your home office. Something that will make you happy and give you a feeling of cosiness. I chose my family pictures and souvenirs from our last summer vacation in one of the beautiful Bali Villas

Make a schedule of work and rest

When working outside the office, the boundaries between work and rest are erased.

Of course, this may play into the hands of your management and some colleagues, but do not forget that you also need to rest.

Stick to a schedule. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a day. Working remotely is not a reason to stay up late or get up ten minutes before work starts.

Conclusion

Working from home is a real punishment for someone, while for others it can be only a reward. It all depends on you and the way you approach work, even if he is from home. We hope that our tips will help you and that you will feel comfortable and productive in your home office as well.
