Nepal is a beautiful country for travelers to visit and explore. In fact, Nepal is the best destination to trekking in the high Himalayas. There are a lot of best treks in Nepal to do. Also, you can do sightseeing & tours around famous cities. In this article, I am going to give brief info on how to reach Nepal either by land or by flights.

How to reach Nepal by flight?

Nepal has only one international airport in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Different airlines will fly to Kathmandu from different cities among which Indian Airlines, Thai International, China Southwest Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Druk Air, Qatar Airways, Nepal Airlines, operates flights daily.

You can reach Nepal, Kathmandu via Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Bangladesh, Qatar, Malaysia, Dubai, Bangkok etc.

If you are from India or already in India, you can fly to Nepal from various cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, and Banglore.

There is also a fixed, regular flight to Kathmandu on Saturday, Tuesday, and Thursday from Lhasa every week.

Peoples traveling Nepal from Europe, Australia & America, have to take transit in between on countries mentioned above or cities.

How to reach Nepal by land?

Until now, There are only eight entrance points in Nepal by land open to foreign travelers, among which six are from Nepal India border side, and two are from Tibet Nepal Border side.

Kakarbhitta, Birgunj, Belhiya Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Mahendra Nagar, Dhangadhi are some of Nepal’s famous places of Nepal India border sides to enter Nepal and reach Kathmandu.

Newly opened Tatopani friendship Bridge is the famous crossing points from Tibet. Likewise, Kodari is also another renowned crossing point of Tibet & Nepal border.

However, other points from Tibet such as via Upper Mustang, Dolpo, and Simikot, etc. also have options to enter Nepal side but not recommended. These are only for the local peoples to transport foods and other items.

Also, keep in mind that you have to switch the buses at the border either to come to Kathmandu & go back both. Another thing to know is, there are no tourist buses on the border side of Nepal. You have to go on local deluxe buses from there to Kathmandu. However, The best thing is, You can book a direct Nepal India friendship buses to Nepal from Delhi, Varanasi, Calcutta, Patna, and Darjeeling.t

Conclusion

Nepal is a landlocked country so that there is no way to reach Nepal via water transports such as Ship as well as there is no way you can reach Nepal via train too. You have to choose among these two ways either by flight or by land. Among these two, flying to Kathmandu will be the safer & most comfortable way to reach Nepal from anywhere in the world. And traveling via land via Buses will be cheaper if you are thinking to save money or spend less.
