How to deal with HP Laptop Caps Lock Blinking And No Screen Issue?

No screen issue is one of the most common issues faced by many HP laptop users. While working on a laptop, the caps lock starts blinking and the screen blackouts. There are numerous possible reasons which can lead to no screen issue. When you get this error, check the BIOS configuration. If this error is appearing due to BIOS error then you may also face the laptop plugged in not charging HP issue. You can directly ask the HP technical team for help or can try a few manual techniques for fixing the error.

Perform a power restart

This is the basic and most common method for fixing no screen. Press the power button for about 5 seconds and the laptop will shut off automatically. The caps lock will also stop blinking. In case you are unable to shut down the laptop by pressing the power button then take out the power source. Remove the power cord from the laptop and then remove the battery. This action will surely shut down your device. Now reboot your HP laptop and check for blinking caps lock.

Run an antivirus

Malware like viruses, Trojan horses, and spyware can corrupt your files and processes. When your HP laptop is showing a black screen issue then there are high chances that your device is dealing with a malware infection. You can’t remove all the malware using freeware as they only provide basic security functions. Scan your HP laptop with a good antivirus which can remove all types of malicious program from the device. After scanning the laptop, restart the laptop and check whether the caps lock is still blinking or your issue has been resolved.

Turn on the Filter Keys

One possible reason behind the blinking caps lock and no screen issue can be the filter keys. Check your filter keys and if the keys are on, disable them immediately. You can disable the filter keys on your HP computer by following the given steps:

  1. Open the Control Panel of your laptop
  2. Go to Ease of Access
  3. Choose to Make the keyboard easier to use the option from the list
  4. Uncheck the Turn on Filter keys box
  5. A confirmation window will appear
  6. Click on the Apply button and close the page

Now again try to run a program and check whether your no screen issue gets fixed or not.

Remove the conflicting program

This error mostly occurs on a particular program. People reported that the screen is getting blackout when they are trying to run a particular program. This happens when the user has installed a malicious program which is interrupting the Windows files. You must remove the conflicting program from the device. Open the Apps folder on Windows 10 HP laptop or Programs folder on Windows 7. Here, you will see all the installed programs on your computer. Right-click on the program which is conflicting which is showing the error and then choose the Uninstall option. Select the confirm button and follow the on-screen instructions for uninstalling the program. Restart the laptop for applying the changes and work easily.

Undo all the recent changes

If you are facing this error after you have made some changes on your device then try to revert the changes. Reboot your device and undo the changes in settings. In case the user has forgotten the changes he has made then try to use the System Restore tool. Open the system restore tool, follow the on-screen instruction and give a restoring point. Once you restore the changes, run the program and inspect for the error.
