Have you ever paid for something and then were told there was no refund or exchange? It’s frustrating, especially when it comes to paying for airline tickets, which can be quite expensive. Avelo Airlines, one of the newest discount airlines in the country, has recently announced its refund policy on airline tickets, making it easier than ever to get your money back if you need to cancel your flight or switch to another flight with them. Here’s what you need to know about Avelo Airlines’ refund policy.
When can you get your money back?
If you need to cancel your flight, you can get a refund as long as you do so within 24 hours of booking. If it’s within 24 hours of your flight, you’ll get a full refund. If you cancel more than 24 hours before your flight, you’ll get a credit that can be used for future travel on Avelo Airlines.
If you need to change your flight, you can do so for free as long as it’s more than 24 hours before your scheduled departure. If it’s within 24 hours, there’s a $75 fee.
If your flight is delayed or canceled, you are entitled to a refund of any unused portion of your ticket.
Denied Boarding Compensation
If you’re denied boarding on an Avelo flight, you may be eligible for compensation. The amount you receive will depend on the length of the flight and the reason for the denial. For example, if the flight is oversold, you’ll receive 200% of your one-way fare, up to $650. If the denial is due to a schedule change, you’ll receive a voucher for future travel.
Delayed Baggage Compensation
According to A velo Airlines Baggage Policy , If your baggage is delayed, you may be entitled to compensation from the airline. Avelo Airlines will reimburse you for any reasonable expenses incurred as a result of the delay, up to a maximum of $200 per day. In order to receive this compensation, you must submit a claim within 21 days of your flight. You will need to provide receipts for all expenses, as well as a copy of your boarding pass and baggage tag.
Claim for Damaged Baggage
You are entitled to a refund if your baggage is damaged on your Avelo Airlines flight. To make a claim, you must file a report within 24 hours of arrival at your destination. Include a detailed description of the damage, as well as any receipts for repairs or replacement items. You will also need to submit a baggage claim form, which you can get from the customer service desk at the airport. Once your claim is filed, Avelo Airlines will investigate and determine if you are eligible for a refund. If they find that the damage was caused by normal wear and tear, they will not issue a refund.
Flight Delay Compensation
Avelo Airlines offers flight delay compensation to passengers whose flights are delayed by more than two hours. The amount of compensation depends on the length of the delay and the distance of the flight. Passengers are also entitled to a refund if their flight is cancelled. To claim compensation, passengers must submit a request form within seven days of the delayed flight.
Missed Connection (Overbooked) Compensation
If you arrive at your gate and your seat has been given to someone else because the flight was overbooked, don’t worry–you’re entitled to compensation. Avelo Airlines will put you on the next available flight and give you a travel voucher for future use. If you’re not able to continue your journey or reach your destination within two hours of your original arrival time, you’ll receive a full refund.
Cancellation / Rescheduling (Affected by Weather) Compensation
If your flight is cancelled or rescheduled due to weather, you are entitled to a full refund. Simply contact Avelo Airlines within 24 hours of your flight to request a refund.
